Hey guys! My best friend and I decided to go exploring a bit around my house, and took a camera with us! I’m so glad we did, because the pictures that came out of it are some of the best pictures I think I’ve ever taken/have ever been taken of me, haha. Another fun coincidence is that we both had mostly navy on, and it was totally unplanned! I wish I had a tripod or something so we could have taken some pictures together. I love that girl ❤

Anyways, here they are. I'm probably going to be having a general-about-my-life post tomorrow because things have been… interesting. I know I've been slow lately, and I'm sorry. Like I said, things have been interesting.

My beautiful best friend:

My dress is from Anthropology (I get discounts for working at Urban there too!) and the hat is from Tillys.

Sorina, my friend, is wearing a dress from JC Penny’s. They have a lot of cute summer dresses for around $20 bucks right now, so I totally suggest hitting it up if you need dresses. I really need to start getting paid…

H’okay, that’s all for now. I hope all of you are doing well, tell me what’s up with you in the comments please. I love hearing from you.

Love you darlings,
Dodi

I don’t usually just show off other people’s work but this really struck a cord with me today.

I AGREE 110%. I like things because I like them; I don’t freaking care if they are mainstream or obscure or what. And my opinion will not change about it unless my taste changes. UGH.

I’m still in a sort of rough patch, but I’ll have more outfits within the next couple of days.

Hey Darlings! Sorry I’ve been busy–finals and then getting home and unpacking my eight suitcases of close. I am a monster, I know. I just can’t stop.

Anyways, here are some fresh outfits, perfect for the summertime! Enjoy…

Can you believe that entire second outfit if from JC Penny’s? And that each piece was only a few bucks? Crazy right?!

It’s very very late so that’s all for now. My next post will probably be more writing and talking about my life, ha. I’m working at Urban Outfitters now and I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it!

Love you darlings,
Dodi

When I’m stressed or nervous or unhappy or any of those other less than pleasant emotions, my go-to course of action is to wear nice clothes. (which you can tell I’m experiencing by the huge bags under my eyes and super frizzy hair. ugh.) Things that make me feel sophisticated and successful. Fake it till you make it right?

So todays post is showing some of the clothes that I’ve worn this week, all of them more chic and dress than I usually wear on a day to day basis. Actually, in a perfect world these would be the sort of things that I wore everyday, a-la Blair Waldorf. She is one of my fashion icons after all, even if she only exists in the fake Upper East Side.

I’ve never really understood finals. Your teachers have been testing you ALL YEAR LONG and now you have to stress and freak out for a week (or two) and have a huge portion of your grade depend on it? It sort of made sense in high school, when the work was much less hard and you learned way less material every semester. But in college it’s just unnecessarily brutal. All of my friends are freaking out, and I am dyyyying. Although for me it’s not the finals but the four papers I have to turn in. Whywhywhy?!

I just can’t wait to go home and relax and work at the mall and be a lazy teenager without feeling so guilty about it. And read! I can’t wait to read for pleasure again! Does anyone have suggestions for summer reads? I just want to read life changing books all summer… that would be lovely.

Anyway, here are the outfits. Hope you like them!

I hope you guys re having a better finals period than I am. But It’ll be over Tuesday, and then SUMMMER.

To be honest, though, I’m a little sad about freshman year being over. I’ve had a blast, and I’ve made tons of amazing friends. I’m going to miss them so much these next three months, it hurts already. My only hope is to manage my school work better next year so I can spend even more time with them. I love my college, and I love the opportunities it’s given me, and I don’t want to be 1/4th of the way over with it! But, I suppose, everything must take it’s natural course.

And on that slightly note, goodnight Darlings. Don’t be a stranger! The more you talk to me, the more fun we can have on here.

A few days ago, we had some really spectacular nice weather. Seriously, it was getting to the point of being TOO hot. It’s cooled down now, but here are some pics from those days. See the new bathing suit? I got it for like 10 bucks on ebay… never been worn! Cool, yeah? I thought so.

Two days in a row my friends and I walked down to the freezing cold river and took a dip. It was utter bliss. It’s so unfortunate that I spend winter in this beautiful place and then go back home when it’s nice. Not that I don’t love Chicago in the city… but seeing as I ,really live in the outskirts with my dad, it’s not very fun in the summer, there’s no where outdoors-y to go! Sigh. Oh well, it will be nice to be with my high school friends again.

So, my darlings, what styles are you looking forward to this summer? I’m particularly interested in how you feel about bathing suits, but tell me about everything that’s sparked your interested! Comments help me grow!

Love you,
Dodi

Hey guys! Okay, so I will have new outfits up for you by the weekend, but for now, I thought we would pretend I have unlimited amounts of money again… because I just really like that game. This one is summer themed! It’s not quite as expensive as the last one I don’t think… Here we goooo…..

Alright, so who doesn’t love a vintage looking swimsuit? I actually got one off of Ebay a bit ago, and a wide brimmed hat I ordered just came in the mail the other day! EXCITING!!! So hopefully I’ll have pics of that up soon.

I love the color lilac. Actually, any shade of purple is just perfection to me. It looks good on every skin tone, and is just so pretty and feminine. lovelovelove.

This outfit makes me think of vacationing somewhere tropical and fabulous. Ahh, if only, if only the woodpecker cried.

Now this outfit is a little fancier, something for a formal night out, or a high-end date or something. I added the belt because while I love the floral, pretty look of this dress, I hate when clothes don’t have any sort of appreciation of the female form. Especially for a night out!

This last outfit is a bit tougher, more gothic-rebel then my other looks. Which I do like, believe it or not. Actually, this style was sort of my favorite all through junior high and the first two years of high school. (does this surprise you guys? It surprises most of my friends who have only known me in college.) It’s still a style that interests me, even if I like the light, vintages looks more now-a-days.

So what do you guys think? Do you plan on wearing any looks like these this summer? Tell me what you think in the comments and don’t forget to check me out at http://www.formspring.me/dressdarling.

Love you darlings

The summer is almost here! It’s almost time to go home! I’m not ready… and I haven’t caught up with my school work enough yet to be comfortable with finishing the school year. Ugh.

Anyways, the weather’s getting warmer, and I’m loving it. Here’s some photographic proof:

(click on the pics to get larger, wider views. My blog cut some of them off instead of resizing them. sigh.)

Wow that’s a lot of pictures! Hope this isn’t all too much at once, haha. As you can see, I’m still quite enchanted by cream and black.

I know what you’re thinking: Are those *GASP* jeans?! Yes they are; it was a chilly night and no skirts really work with crop tops in my opinion, so there you go. I actually like it, haha.

Also, I think it may be hard to tell, but those shorts are navy… I was sort of going for a nautical-but-not look? I dunno, ha.

A lot of these clothes are thrifted or hand-me-downs, which makes me quite proud of myself, haha. Don’t you love when people say that they like your outfit, and you get to admit that you either you didn’t pay for them at all, or got it for really cheap? I do.

Today I went thrifting in Pitsfield, about half an hour away from my school. We actually planned on going to the mall and got detoured. Such a good choice!!! The stuff was so cute, but all I could buy was a nice summer scarf for my mom for mothers day. I wish I had more money.. I would have at least bought a shirt and a purse. The purse was an old Dooney and Burke for TWENTY BUCKSSS!!! AHH. It killed me to leave it in the store, but I hope someone who is equally excited about it finds it.

Do you guys like thrifting? I have friends who are creeped out by wearing something someone else owned, but I love it. Let me know what you think about that, or my outfits, in the comments.

Also, don’t forget to check out my formspring: http://www.formspring.me/dressdarling

Hope you have an exciting weekend coming up!

Love you darlings.

Hey guys! So, there are a ton of movies I really want to see, including:
~Almost Famous (Did you know that Zooey Deschanel was in this movie? I didn’t! She’s my hero, legit.)
~Strike! (otherwise known as All I Wanna Do?! I dunno, it’s got Kristen Dunst in it.)
~Kick Ass
~An Education
~ UP (WHY HAVEN’T I SEEN THIS MOVIE YET?! AHH!!)
~Titanic (I haven’t seen it since it came out when I was seven. Ack! )

Does anyone have other movie suggestions? I’m obsessed with watching movies, haha.

And now, more cream and black. As I told you, I’m obsessed!

I also got a dress that’s black with little dog faces on it in cream from Anthropologie (birthday gift, thanks Auntie!). I know it sounds silly, but it’s great I promise! When it’s warm again I’ll bust it out and show it to you guys.

This dress is a BCBG dress that three of my aunts came together and bought me for my birthday a few years ago. I never wore it in high school because I felt too dressed up, but now I’m loving it! It was actually a little too chilly for the dress, so I had my longish black sweater (the one I wear ALL THE TIME) on over it whenever I was outside. The pin and pearls were my great great grandmothers (I miss you Nanny) and the heels I’ve had for a long time, I can’t remember where they’re from. The bow I’ve been wearing nonstop since spring break, from Claire’s.
I was slightly concerned that with the heels, the pearls, the pin, and the bow that the outfit would be a little to sweet and vintagey, but I personally like the outcome. What do you guys think?

Well, that’s all for now! Life has been crazy, but I should have some more posts coming up this week, even if they’re not what I’m wearing. Anything you guys would like me to talk about?

Also, don’t forget to ask me questions over at http://www.formspring.me/dressdarling

Love ya Darlings,
Dodi

BUT LOOK HOW CUTE MY CLOTHES ARE!!!!11!!1

Haha, I’m in a weird mood (in case you hadn’t noticed… somehow…) Anyways, I feel ill (I have the flu or something) and I’m exhusted… which of course means I’ve been trying to dress extra-cute to make up for it. See also; I seem to be really into the cream and black look lately. More on that in my next post. Let me know what you guys think of the new outfits!

Photobucket

Please ignore my super gross pose here. K thanks. I like this outfit because I think it looks sort of ’70s, but modernized. I love tucking in shirts, don’t ask me why, but I do. This shirt has a really small all-over flower print that I love.

Yes, this dress again! This time for warmer weather! It was actually so warm that I had to take my very thin cardigan off during the hottest part of the day. As you can see, I am obsessed with my big bow.

New glasses! I actually like these even more than the last, they go with more stuff and I think they frame my face better.

Also, the rest of the outfit is new, and I love the bow on the top. So feminine. 🙂

It was TOM’s A Day Without Shoes to see what it’s like to live a life without shoes, so I was barefoot all day long, haha.

This outfit was fun to put together. The skirt is actually a slip from another dress that I just wore underneath this knit top that my aunt gave me (yay for hand-me-downs!). Also, the belt really gave this outfit the shape that it needed. I really want a similar one in brown, but woven.

Tada! I’ve been feeling rather vintage lately as well. (I even got a vintage style swim suit on ebay–can’t wait to use it and show it to you!!) Spring does that to me.

Hope you liked the update, and let me know what you think in the comments!

Thanks, Darlings

P.S. don’t forget to ask me questions at http://www.formspring.me/dressdarling! I love hearing from you!

Okay, so we’re starting a new game! It’s where I pretend I have unlimited amounts of money and use those unlimited amounts to put outfits together. Awesome, huh? I think I’m going to do it regularly. I thought I would only do three or four pieces, but it was so fun, I couldn’t stop! Here we go:

Don’t you just feel richer pretending that those clothes were affordable? I know I do! Yeah, I think I’m going to have to do this more often…

What do you guys think? If you have ideas about the big things you would buy but are out of your price range, I’d love to read them in the comments.

Love ya, darlings.
